ABSTRACT
The expectations and regulations of the present era, along with the increasingly stringent legal environment, make it necessary to develop new methods that can be cost-effective for machinery manufacturers in their efforts to reduce weight by replacing metal parts with plastic. During the redesign process, several iterative steps are required to arrive at the right part, along with the design of the tool. This time-consuming process aims to be replaced by a database-based approach, which relies on computational and measurement results. In this article, we summarize the measurement and calculation results related to the data collection required for building the database.
