ABSTRACT
The state of health (SOH) of the lithium-ion battery deteriorates over time, the chemical reactions slow down, and factors that negatively affect the ion flow appear. This results in a decrease in capacity and performance, the extent of which depends on the way of use and the storage conditions. Since the process is not linear, its prediction is difficult, so information on the state of the cell must be obtained from time to time. Currently, battery management systems calculate the value of SOH during almost complete immersions and charges. In an application area where the cell cannot be drained, an alternative solution must be sought. We can obtain information about the chemical processes taking place inside the cell with impedance spectroscopy. It can be easily implemented in laboratory conditions, but its integration and application in automotive applications, for example in BMS, presents challenges.
