ABSTRACT

This study investigates the thermal and efficiency behavior of three photovoltaic technologies—conventional silicon, PERC, and PERC + UV film—under varying ventilation conditions using a MATLAB/Simulink-based simulation model. Simulations were conducted under representative summer irradiance and ambient temperature for three wind scenarios (calm, 3 m/s, and 5 m/s). Results indicate that increased ventilation significantly lowers internal panel temperature and reduces efficiency losses, with PERC + UV film consistently delivering the most stable and efficient performance. These findings underscore the importance of ventilation and appropriate technology selection in minimizing thermal performance losses under summer conditions.
