ABSTRACT
This study investigates the optimization of deposition and heat treatment parameters for electroless Ni–B coatings with the aim of improving their tribological performance. Using the Taguchi method combined with analysis of variance, the impact of bath temperature, deposition time, and heat treatment temperature on friction coefficient, microhardness, wear volume loss, and wear depth were analysed. Results reveal that heat treatment temperature has the most significant influence, followed by bath temperature and deposition time, with none of the factors being negligible. The developed methodological approach demonstrates the potential of structured statistical design to determine optimal process parameters for high-performance Ni–B coatings.
