ABSTRACT
In this study, we present the Materials Testing Laboratory of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Debrecen and the main scope of activities outlining the key points of the examinations.
Previously materials testing play a significant role in the life of the Department, both in education and research. In recent years, Debrecen has become as one of the most dynamically developing industrial centre, resulting in the continuous expansion of major companies. At the same time, industrial requests for material testing have increased significantly towards our Department.
In education, it is important to provide Students with the opportunity to obtain theoretical knowledge and to acquire practical materials testing procedures at a high level. An integral part of this is the presence of modern well-equipped Laboratories, where various testing instruments are available for practical training.
In addition, the presence of industry and education, scientific research activities necessitated the establishment of a Materials Testing Laboratory, which allows these areas to operate independently of each other.
Materials testing itself covers an extremely broad field, therefore we highlight only a few main profiles of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Materials Testing Laboratory through some selected case studies.
