ABSTRACT
Our machine structures and their kinematic relationships are complex, and it is extremely difficult to review them with the limited practical experience and theoretical background available. Kinematic sketches help to see the essence, and simplifying models provide an approximate solution. Our goal is to present options that bridge the gap between the complex assembly drawing and the acting loads on the one hand, and the models and the kinematic diagrams used to clarify the stresses on the other hand.
