ABSTRACT

The grapho-analytical optimization method based on the Kuhn-Tucker optimality criterium is very efficient for the optimization of problems which can be described by mathematical equations and formulae. In this paper the collision situation is investigated between a car and a rigid wall. Considering the mass of the car and the constant of the spring as design variables and the decelaration during the collision as objective function, it is possible to build up the optimization problem of this collisiion situation. As result we can get the optimum value of the mass and the spring constant for minimum deceleration.
