ABSTRACT
Gears have long been considered one of the fundamental components in mechanical engineering. In the past, there was generally no need for precise tooth geometry in everyday practice, as the manufacturing
technologies used did not require it. In addition, mechanical drawing rules also contain provisions for the
simplified representation of gears.
However, in today’s world, where machining is carried out using CAD/CAM systems and additive
manufacturing technologies are becoming increasingly prevalent, the precise design of tooth profiles is becoming increasingly necessary.
